In 2024, the political landscape remained volatile, shaped by fearmongering, scapegoating, misinformation, voter fatigue, and deepening disillusionment. Behind the headlines, however, a quieter story unfolded – CTC made a meaningful impact.
- We recruited 1,103 canvassers, training them to tell and elicit personal stories—to connect, initiate dialogue, then truly listen to every voter they meet.
- We trained and supported 106 volunteer coaches to guide new canvassers, lead breakout groups, and stay in conversation with the leadership team to make our training stronger.
- Those canvassers had 16,435 encounters with 13,018 unique voters.
Voters we spoke with bucked the overall trend toward declining voter turnout citywide. Publicly available voter records released by the State of Pennsylvania show that 79% of those we spoke to voted, compared to 58% of those we did not encounter from the same neighborhoods—a turnout rate 21 points higher.
%
of voters we engaged in the 2022 midterms cast ballots—15 points greater than their comparable neighbors.

Our strong track record in Pennsylvania and New York is evidence that this approach works – voters we deep canvassed in the 2020 (presidential) and 2022 (midterm) elections voted at a rate 10-15 percentage points higher than their comparable neighbors.
%
80% of voters we engaged in 2020 cast ballots—10 points greater than their comparable neighbors.
For the past five years we’ve shown that deep canvassing is both relational and effective.
We’re proud of our work to help build a model for strengthening democracy and support a more just and caring world.
